6 month old wakes 3 to 4 times a night
07-09-2009Q: Hi My 6 month baby boy wakes 3 to 4 times a night, and wakes his 18 month sister with screams. He sleeps at most three to four times during the day for no more than 30 minutes. He is almost 8 Kg now and on solids consisting cereal for breakfast and supper, which he recently stopped taking, and butternut for lunch, and on Nan Pelargon, and has 4 to 5 bottles of 150 to 200 ml per day, and two bottles at night. He moans uncomfortably the whole day as well. We recently put him on Losec for indigestion which has helped his moods during the day. Your book suggests he should sleep 10 to 12 hours at night...

07-09-2009Q: I follow all your advice in Baby Sense and Sleep Sense about sleep and routine very closely. My 5 1/2 month old son goes to sleep around 6.30pm after a bath and bottle. He wakes two or three times almost every night between 12 am and 2 am, and then again for a feed around 4am. I realize the need for a feed at 4am is age-appropriate, but battle to get him to sleep through without waking until then. I have tried leaving him to fall back to sleep on his own with no luck. Most nights, I wait a minute or two then go to him, re-wrap him, turn him, give him a dummy and gently pat him. He mostly falls...

Q: I was wanting to get some of your magic advice again. I was in touch with you last month regarding my son. As I mentioned then I was trying to drop his 10pm feed which we had been giving since birth on advice of other books however this went horribly wrong as he started waking several times before this feed. Conor is now six months and we have introduced a supplementary feed of formula as I am breast feeding and we are introducing solids one at a time. However my sleep deprivation continues, he is now waking erratically between 8 and 11 every night(only once but the time varies) and I am able to get...

Q: Hi My 4 month old baby boy has started waking up at night. He used to sleep from 18h00 to 05h00, but recently started waking 2 or 3 times at night again. I am back at work now so it’s really exhausting having to get up at night for him. He sometimes drinks some milk, but will wake up 2 hours later, so he can’t be hungry. My paed told me to start him on solids, so he has cereal in the evening at about 16h30, then bath and bed time by 18h00 ( he only drinks about 75ml before falling asleep). He sleeps well until about midnight and then wakes up every 2 hours until 04h00 when he thinks its...
