Dear Baby Sense Moms and Dads
Happy Valentine's Day
Is this your first Valentine’s Day post-baby? Well you will probably find that it’s going to be a very different one. Last year you may have enjoyed a romantic sun-downer before grabbing a late dinner but this year all that one-on–one time is probably out of the question and in fact the idea of celebrating Valentine’s Day at all, may be one you are actually contemplating abandoning.
Before you do decide not to spoil your other half, take a moment to remember just how much they mean. Like most moms, falling pregnant alone is something that probably didn’t cross your mind – it usually ‘takes two to tango’ as it were. But little did you realize just how vital your other half would become once your baby arrived. Parenting alone is tough and so for this Valentine’s Day I want to suggest we celebrate our ‘other half in the parenting game’, for amongst other things:
-
Getting up at night when we just can’t do it AGAIN!
-
Wiping the tears when breastfeeding or calming a fussy baby has finally got the better of us
-
Changing yet another nappy
-
Telling us, we are doing a great job with the baby
-
The tenderness they show us when our energy is spent at the end of a day of parenting
Parenting changes the romance in our relationship but deepens our love for each other. Cherish your other half this month and remember to put some romance back into your relationship - this February 14 is a good time to start.
Wishing you many cherish’able moments and peaceful nights.

Happy days
Top tip:
If you feel out of energy, sad and very anxious all the time, you need to do a checklist to see if you have postpartum distress (postnatal depression). This month, psychologist Linda Lewis looks at the common issue of PND and how to cope when you don’t feel like you can. Linda’s new book When blessings don’t count is amazing and well worth the buy. Linda will be on line with us this month at February’s Facebook Party on the 14th February. |

Product of the month
The Baby Sense Cuddlewrap is the ideal wrap for a new baby, as the heart shaped wrap is perfect for a snug fit. The deep hug of the stretchy cotton ensures your baby will feel as cosy as those last days in the womb. Good news for mom as this means baby will be calmer and sleep for longer periods at a time.
