I agree with you that the benefits outweigh the risks.  This was also discussed on Great Expectations and the Paed said to go ahead as this report was bogus and has since been withdrawn (MMR vaccination).  Personally, I would rather have my daughter vaccinated as I don't want diseases that have almost been eradicated, i.e. Polio, to make a comeback.  I tell parents when they tell me, 'look, I haven't vaccinated my child and he/she is fine', my reply is, 'because my child, and so many others are vaccinated - that's why yours has not become ill'.  I feel that I need to protect her as far as possible.</description>
