An Easter Chocolate Mountain

As a mother it is in my nature to “need” to feed my children. Whatever the occasion I must buy too much food, incase something happens and food will not be available for a while… The Easter weekend was a typical example. I left it to the last minute to buy Easter eggs, and ofcourse there were only a few scraggy looking things left. I ended up having to go to 4 different shops to scrape together 20 eggs. Yes, that’s right - 20 eggs for 2 children. What was I thinking! They certainly did have fun looking for them, but then I only allowed them to have 2 eggs as I feared a sugar overload. Now I have a mountain of chocolate eggs that my children are using against me as bargaining power… I am sure it is supposed to work the other way around. I have had to hide them again, but mostly from myself. This chocolate supply would last my children almost a year. It might last me just 2 weeks. Why do we feel the need to spoil our children so?
